Overview |
The course is designed to enable students to understand the nature of performing arts and the importance and influence of dance, music and drama in everyone’s life. Students are encouraged to explore their own emotions and feelings as well as those of the people around them. To reflect upon how their behaviour has impacted their education and how they can better understand themselves and others. |

End of topic assessment once a term. |
What will I learn |
Students will learn basic communication skills, gesture, speech, vocal intonation, and movement. They will study at least one play, discuss, analyse and evaluate it. They will learn about the various elements, styles and mediums of drama. They will focus on one or two genres such as Mask, Film and Spoken Word |
Skills and Knowledge |
Students will develop their ability to speak and listen, read facial expressions and social cues and to understand personas. Students will develop the understanding and skills needed to appreciate and evaluate powerful influences in entertainment, TV, film, and music. Students are taught skills to enhance their conversational and collaborative skills as well as develop ability to predict outcomes, consider consequences and broaden empathy. Students will develop their literacy skills. |

Overview |
This qualification is designed for pupils who want an introduction to Acting, Music, and Performance. The course is vocational, and project based. The qualification will appeal to pupils who wish to pursue a career in the Arts and Entertainment sector or progress to further study. |
How will I be assessed |
Learners can work at their own pace for this qualification, they record their progress in an arts log or portfolio. This provides the evidence for the adviser to assess and for the moderator to validate. Arts logs and portfolios can be created in any format. Learners can use written, visual and digital methods to record work for their evidence. To achieve a Bronze Arts Award, young people collect evidence of their experiences of:
Pupils will have one opportunity to resubmit. The qualification is graded Pass/Fail. This qualification is working at the same standard as GCSE grades 3–1. |

This qualification is designed for pupils who want to develop their skills in and knowledge and understanding of Acting, Music, and Performance. The course is vocational, and project based. The qualification will appeal to pupils who wish to pursue a career in the Arts and Entertainment sector or progress to further study. |
